SHRIMP 2022 is jointly organised by INFOFISH; the Department of Fisheries, Thailand; Network of Aquaculture Centres in Asia Pacific (NACA); and China Aquatic Products Processing and Marketing Alliance (CAPPMA). In the latest press release, organisers said that the conference will be Chaired by Jose Antonio Camposano, Executive President, National Chamber of Aquaculture, Ecuador.
Echoing the theme of the Conference, Camposano says “Throughout its history, the global shrimp industry has faced challenges of all kinds, from health and environmental related challenges to logistical issues and financial crises. Despite all these difficulties it is a highly competitive industry because its products are marketed worldwide. The Keynote Address will be delivered by Dr Audun Lem, Deputy Director Fisheries and Aquaculture Division FAO HQ, Rome, Italy. Dr Lem will address the impact of both COVID-19 and the ongoing war in Ukraine and the lessons these hold for the industry, in particular for future resilience.
