The importance of Black Soldier Fly meal and oil is already recognized for its potential health and nutritional benefits in Aquaculture. EntomealTM and Entolipid, two products from ‘Entofood by Veolia’, delivered promising results when applied to Litopenaeus. vannamei nursery diets in a trial conducted by the Aquaculture Business Research Center of Kasetsart University.
The growth and health of post-larval shrimp, and the survival of juvenile shrimp when challenged with the commonly encountered Vibro parahaemolyticus, improved significantly when compared to a standard control diet, irrespective of EntomealTM and Entolipid inclusion rates.
