The session, chaired by Dr. Darian McBain, an experienced Chief Sustainability Officer, will address the most challenging questions about reducing the carbon footprint with representatives from industry giants such as Cargill, Skretting, and Thai Union. We will examine the environmental impact across the entire shrimp supply chain and explore potential solutions. Additionally, a presentation on climate action within the flower industry will offer valuable insights applicable to our sector. Trade Regulation and Due Diligence Summit

A pile of worms on the ground

In the first part of the session, chaired by Guus Pastoor, who holds positions in several aquaculture and fisheries organisations within the EU, we will explore the latest and upcoming changes to regulations around trading in the US and EU. We will hear from companies that have already adapted to comply with these new rules. The second part, chaired by Roxanne Nanninga, an authority on addressing complex environmental and social challenges facing our global food systems, will focus on labour compliance and human rights due diligence. Given the industry’s pressure to develop new processes, this is a crucial topic to discuss and examine what other companies have implemented.
