Announcing the date for Global Shrimp Forum 2025

Posted on

The Global Shrimp Forum 2025 will take place at the van der Valk Hotel in Utrecht from 2 to 4 September 2025. The Global Shrimp Forum Foundation will make to help

(1) increase participation from the shrimp market and industry in China and

(2) supermarkets, large wholesalers, and crucial industries in Europe, the US, and other parts of the world.

Chinese and Spanish simultaneous translation to increase participation from these regions
In consideration of our guests from China and Spanish-language countries, and to help further increase attendance among delegates from those countries, my board has decided to offer simultaneous translation of our plenary and most of our break-out sessions. Chinese and Spanish speakers who may not be fluent in English can use headsets to listen to simultaneous translations of each session.

Moreover, to increase participation from China, the Global Shrimp Forum team is excited to work closely together with last year’s participants from China to grow the Chinese delegation for GSF 2025 to the next level. Do you have clients or partners in China who you think should attend next year’s event? Spread the word, and get them in touch with secretariat@shrimp-forum.com. Together, we can make this event even more impactful.

A tailored program to grow retail representation
We all want to hear more about what the buyers and CSR managers of the retailers that move most of our shrimp to the consumers think about our industry and where they want us to go. However, for many retail representatives, shrimp is just part of their responsibility, and attending a shrimp conference is sometimes hard to sell. We will help them overcome this challenge!

This year, we will organise a retail-only session, due to take place on Tuesday, titled: “De-risking the Seafood Supply Chain.” In this session, representatives of supermarkets will be updated on the most urgent social and environmental risks in their seafood supply chains. Initiatives to deal with those risks will be presented, and the representatives can share experiences. After this closed session, the retailers will participate in the plenary opening and welcome reception. Afterwards, they will join Global Shrimp Forum’s sponsors for an exclusive networking event in the evening. The supermarket representatives are also encouraged to participate in the program on Wednesday and Thursday.

We’ll be offering a limited number of supermarket representatives with a free delegate pass. If the representative also presents or participates in a panel in one of our seminars, accommodation will also be covered. Do you know a supermarket representative who you believe fits the bill and would be a great addition to next year’s event? Get us in touch at secretariat@shrimp-forum.com, and we will gladly help!
