In Singapore, the 13th Seafood Expo Asia facilitated strategic business relationships with buyers across Asia

The seafood trade event in Singapore welcomed more than 4,190 seafood professionals across the seafood supply chain from 75 countries for three days of networking, exploring the latest products and trends, and developing new business relationships.  

Next year’s event will take place 2-4 September 2026 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore.

This fall, Seafood Expo Asia, organized by Diversified, welcomed seafood professionals from 75 countries. The three-day event, held annually, provided a platform for global exhibitors across the seafood supply chain to establish and build relationships with buyers in Asia. The event saw success in its Business Matchmaking Program, a unique networking opportunity that allowed exhibitors and buyers to pre-schedule individual meetings onsite. The program confirmed more than 440 meetings throughout the event. Other networking events and onsite features, including the conference program, product showcase and Seafood Excellence Asia Awards, offered further exposure and in-person connection for the seafood industry.  

Companies across the world showcased their latest seafood products, technologies and offerings to buyers from across Asia. 

More than 40 exhibiting countries took part in this year’s event including Australia, Canada, Chile, Ecuador, France, Germany, Honduras, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, Vietnam and Yemen.  

“This Expo is super relevant for us because we don’t just connect deeper with our Singapore customers, but also with customers across the region, so customers coming from Sri Lanka, India, Vietnam and Thailand,”

said Rodrigo Bustos, Regional Manager at AquaChile.

“For example, on day one we had thirty-one meetings from 7 to 10 markets across the region, so it’s an incredible opportunity for us to connect and find new opportunities.”

High-volume seafood buyers and importers attended to source new products and meet with exhibitors through the Business Matchmaking Program from industries like airlines, cruise lines, distributors, caterers, hotels, importers, restaurants, supermarkets, wholesalers. Participating companies included Central Food Wholesale Co.,Ltd. (Thailand), CJ Freshway (Republic of Korea), CP Axtra Public Company Limited. (Thailand), Delly’s (Brazil), DFI Retail Group (Singapore), EB Services Co., Ltd (Central Retail) (Vietnam), EMART (Republic of Korea/ Vietnam), Fairprice Group (Singapore), Go Fresh Co., LTD (Hong Kong SAR), ITM Alimentaire International (Thailand), Mida Food Distributors, Inc. (Philippines), Royal Seafood International Trading Company Limited (Vietnam), SATS Catering Pte Ltd (Singapore), SMS International Sysco (Ireland), Suntech International Food Co. Ltd. (Hong Kong SAR), Sureste Properties, Inc. (Philippines), Vikings Group of Companies (Philippines) and more.

“This has opened up opportunities to expand our product range and explore potential new partnerships. We are currently reviewing some of the offers and plan to place trial orders, which could help us strengthen our sourcing strategy and deliver more value to our customers.” 

The Best New Seafood Products for the Asian Market Were Announced 

Lam Kee Fisheries Pte Ltd won the top prize as the Seafood Excellence Asia Award’s Best New Product for its retail product Snow Treasures Miso-Marinated Cod Cube (Singapore).  The awards for second and third place for Best New Product were given to Vinh Hoan Corporation (Vietnam) for its Protein Pho Fusion  and Gumusdoga Su Urunleri (Turkey) for its Frozen Salmon Trout Fillet, respectively. A live judging took place at the event by a panel of high-volume seafood buyers and industry experts from Central Food Wholesales Ltd. from Thailand, Emart from South Korea, SATS Catering from Singapore and Cold Storage and Giant from Singapore. 

Industry Experts Weighed in on Sustainability, Certifications and Economic Shifts Impacting Asia

Sustainability and certifications were major topics of interest in the conference program with sessions led by industry experts. Popular sessions included equitable, sustainable and accountable supply chains across Asia, market access and the strategic value of certification in sustainable (responsible) seafood, shrimp market dynamics in the age of trade disruptions and more. Leading Asian economist, Mr. Manu Bhaskaran, provided a keynote address where he discussed economic shifts and how they’re impacting the Asian region. He outlined a relatively positive outlook for Southeast Asia and opportunities for this region amidst trade uncertainty.
