The new feed mill of 150,000 tonnes per year marks a significant milestone in Sheng Long’s regional expansion and reinforces the company’s long-term commitment to supporting the growth and sustainability of Malaysia’s aquaculture industry.
Sheng Long Aqua Technology (M) Sdn. Bhd. a subsidiary of China-based Guangdong Haid Group Co., Limited held the groundbreaking ceremony for its first aquaculture feed manufacturing facility in Malaysia.
The new facility, scheduled to commence operations in 2028, represents a first-phase investment of approximately RM140 million. It will have two shrimp feed and two fish feed production lines and 2 production lines, with an annual production capacity of 150,000 tonnes per year. The project is expected to meet the growing demand in Malaysia and neighbouring markets, create more than 100 employment opportunities, and strengthen local manufacturing capabilities and supply chain resilience.
The ceremony was officiated by Perak State officials including State Executive Council (EXCO) Members, InvestPerak, Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Northern Corridor Implementation Authority as well as Sheng Long’s Vietnam General Manager Hoy Hsu Kuang, distribution partners and members of the aquaculture community.
Teh Kok Lim, Perak State Executive Council (EXCO) Member for Science, Environment and Green Technology stated,

The Perak State Government under the leadership of YAB Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad remains committed to facilitating investments, strengthening industry partnerships, and ensuring that Perak remains an attractive destination for both global and domestic investors.”
Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid, CEO of MIDA, said:

The Perak facility will serve as Sheng Long’s key manufacturing and technical service hub in Malaysia.
