
The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) in partnership with the Philippine Shrimp Industry Inc. (PHILSHRIMP) will organise the 13th Philippine National Shrimp Congress with the theme “Philippine Shrimp Farming: Its Paradigm Shift to Sustainable New Normal†which will be held on November 9-11, 2021.
The participants of the Congress are the shrimp growers, hatchery operators, processors, traders and exporters, feed millers, government affiliates, academe and from ancillary industries. The last Congress was held in Bacolod City in 2019.
The program will have several technical sessions over three days covering various perspectives on Shrimp Aquaculture in the Philippines and the region; Technology, Disease Management, Culture, Biosecurity and Shrimp Welfare; Hatchery and Nursery, and Marketing. Highlights of Philippine Shrimp Industry Roadmap and updates on “Oplan Balik Sugpo†and other priority projects on crustaceans will be presented. Various forums with industry players will discuss issues affecting the industry in the Philippines.
