The World Aquaculture Society (WAS) has announced that World Aquaculture 2025 (WA2025), one of the leading global events for the aquaculture industry, will take place in Qingdao, China, from April 24-27, 2025, at the Qingdao International Convention Centre. This marks the second time the event has been hosted in China, following the successful World Aquaculture 2002 conference in Beijing more than 20 years ago.
The event will feature prominent plenary speakers, cutting-edge research presentations, and an exhibition showcasing innovations in the aquaculture sector. Attendees will also have the opportunity to network, share knowledge, and collaborate on addressing key challenges and opportunities facing both Chinese market and the global aquaculture industry. As China is a global leader in aquaculture, WA2025 in China will offer unique opportunity to engage with a country that plays a major role in the industry and to highlight advancements and innovations in aquaculture.
The conference will be chaired by Prof Zhenmin Bao (President of China Society of Fisheries, China) and Prof. Patrick Sorgeloos (Ghent University, Belgium) with Dr. Qingyin Wang (Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences) and Prof. Yeong Yik Sung (UMT, Malaysia) serving as the Program Chairs. Together, they will oversee the development of a diverse and comprehensive program that reflects the latest research and trends in the aquaculture industry.
