Relocation of World Aquaculture 2025 event from China to India

Posted on

Important Announcement: Due to the China Society Fisheries (CSF) having cancelled the World Aquaculture 2025 event (originally scheduled for April 24-27, 2025, Qingdao, China), the World Aquaculture Society (WAS) has, after careful review and consideration of current circumstances, made the difficult decision to cancel the event in China.

World Aquaculture 2025  will be relocated to India. It will be called World Aquaculture 2025 INDIA (WA 2025 INDIA). The venue is Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre, Hyderabad, India from November 10-13, 2025

WAS said,

“This relocation allows us to continue providing an exceptional experience for our attendees. Despite the challenges posed by this change, we are committed to offering and ensuring a successful event and are excited about the opportunities in this new location presents. We believe it is a positive development, and it is the right time to return to India after our first successful experience.

This marks the return of World Aquaculture to India after the successful Asian Pacific Aquaculture 2019 (APA19) event in Chennai. With Aquaculture continuing to grow rapidly in the Asian-Pacific region and particularly in India, the 2025 event is the perfect time for the World Aquaculture community to focus on India again at Hyderabad.

Hyderabad plays an important role in India’s maritime development with its advanced marine economy, robust marine industry and strong foundation in marine fishery, marine equipment manufacturing, and marine transportation.

In its press release on 28 January, organisers, WAS and APC-WAS, said,

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our attendees, partners, researchers, exhibitors and supporters, and we thank you for your understanding and continued support. Additional information regarding the new event details, including the updated event and venue, will be posted on our website soon.”

They also advised the following:

  • All the previous abstracts  submitted to WA2025 China will continue to be processed by the Program Committee and all registrations will continue to be valid.
  • The abstract submission deadline has been extended to August 31, 2025.
  • For the Exhibition, if you have already booked a booth and would like to keep your booth while exploring the new location, WAS will send you the updated manual and all other relevant information.
  • Please note that the venue has changed, and WAS will provide all necessary details to assist all in this transition.
  • WAS greatly appreciates the interest in World Aquaculture China and invite you to join us at World Aquaculture India this November. It  looks forward to a truly remarkable event in India.
