Seafood Expo Global announces finalists for the 2026 Seafood Excellence Global Awards

A total of 38 products have been shortlisted for this year’s awards, including 8 in the HORECA category and 30 in the retail category.

Finalists span 17 countries worldwide, reflecting the global scope of the competition.

Winners will be revealed on Tuesday 21 April 2026, during the 32nd edition of Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global in Barcelona, Spain

Seafood Expo Global/Seafood Processing Global, has announced 38 finalists for the 2026 Seafood Excellence Global Awards. The winners will be revealed during a reception taking place on the opening day of the Expo, held from 21–23 April 2026 at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue in Barcelona, Spain.

The Seafood Excellence Global Awards recognize outstanding seafood products showcased at the Expo, offering a snapshot of innovation and emerging trends across the industry. All submitted products will be displayed throughout the three-day event at the Seafood Excellence Global stand, located in the Galleria between halls 4 and 5.

Two top awards will be presented for Best Retail Product and Best HORECA (Hotel/Restaurant/Catering) Product. In addition, four special awards will highlight achievements in innovation, convenience, retail packaging and seafood product line.

This year’s 38 finalists represent 17 countries, marking an increase of two countries compared to last year.

The finalists in the HORECA category are:

  •  Ferguson Australia Pty Ltd. – Southern Rock Lobster Frozen Half (Australia)
  •  Frais Embal – Salmon Roll (France)
  •  Golden Fresh Sdn Bhd – BBQ Rice Paper Breaded Salmon Tenders (Malaysia)
  •  Golden Fresh Sdn Bhd – Crevettes Black Diamond (Malaysia)
  •  Hätälä Oy – Warm-Smoked Salmon Crumble (Finland)
  •  Huîtres Legris – Öystar Elixir (France)
  • Kalaneuvos Oy – Crispy Rainbow Trout Schnitzel (Finland)
  • Stolt Sea Farm – Turbot Steaks (Spain)

The finalists in the Retail category include the following from Asia 

  • Dardanel Dis Ticaret A.S. – Cook in the Bag – Seabass Fillet (Turkey)
  • Dardanel Dis Ticaret A.S. – Smoked Trout Steak (Turkey)
  • Dardanel Dis Ticaret A.S. – Tuna & Basmati Rice (Turkey)
  • Golden Fresh Sdn Bhd – Lightly Seasoned Lemon and Dill Black Cod Portion in Pouch (Malaysia)
  • Golden Fresh Sdn Bhd – Sunburst Citrus & Dill Half Lobster (Malaysia)
  • Van Duc Tien Giang Food Export Company – Potato Cups with Fish (Vietnam)

In addition to the Seafood Excellence Global Awards, the Seafood Excellence Awards are held annually at Seafood Expo North America in Boston and the Seafood Excellence Asia Awards are held annually at Seafood Expo Asia in Singapore.
